FIRST ANNUAL SCARECROW FESTIVAL

Set-Up: Scarecrows must be set up at Boyd Orchards
between Wednesday, September 26th and Friday, September
28th between 9:00am - 6:00pm.
● All entries must be on display
until October 31st, 2007.
● Scarecrows must be in good taste
and constructed to withstand the weather.
Scarecrows will not be accepted that reflect
controversial, social or political situations. We
reserve the right to remove any scarecrow that does not
meet these standards.
● Please bring a plastic tarp large
enough to cover your entry in case of rain. All
efforts will be made by Boyd Orchards to cover entries
that have tarps available beside them.
● Scarecrow judging is by popular
vote. All winners will be announced at Boyd
Orchards on Sunday, September 30th, 2007 at 5:00pm.
● Take-Down: Scarecrows
should be picked up November 1st - 4th, 2007 between
9am-6pm. CATEGORIES
Traditional Entries must resemble the
traditional scarecrows that have been in the fields and
gardens for centuries. Whimsical
Any construction, not necessarily a traditional
scarecrow. Entries may be made with any material.
Children's Open to all individuals, groups,
clubs and organizations of children ages 14 and under.
Please note: Parental and adult participation must
be kept to a minimum to maintain category integrity.
CASH PRIZES AWARDED BY POPULAR VOTE OF FESTIVAL VISITORS
For voting purposes, please be prepared to give a NAME
or TITLE to your Scarecrow entry when checking in.
Prizes will be awarded in each category!
1st place: $100.00
2nd place: $75.00
3rd place: $50.00 Prizes will
be awarded in BOYD BUCKS!
